I live in a city where sweeping views of Lake Superior are constant. This place is bowled over with giant, steep hills and large, glorious stretches of natural, tree and creek-saturated spans. The big stuff is certainly beautiful, but what a pity to forget the small treasures!

These little ladies are among the little gems. So delicate and so regal, Minnesota’s state flower quietly nods on forest floors in just the right conditions and certain times of year.
